Kayla Luker

Mound Ridge has been a special part of Kayla’s life for as long as she can remember. She grew up attending Richmond Heights Presbyterian Church, and her church community spent a lot of time at Mound Ridge. Her first trip to camp was when she was just five years old.

Her connection to Mound Ridge also runs through her family. Kayla’s mom, Connie Portwood—who serves alongside me on the Board—grew up going to Mound Ridge and passed that love on to her. As Kayla got older, she became a summer camper and eventually returned as a counselor, creating memories and friendships that have stayed with her throughout her whole life.

In the summer of 2025, Kayla had the opportunity to continue that connection in a new way by joining the Mound Ridge Board of Directors, where she currently serves as Secretary.

Mound Ridge has been part of Kayla’s family’s story for generations, and it means so much to her to now help shape its future.

Kayla is excited about this next chapter for Mound Ridge and truly honored to be a part of it.

Kayla serves on the Board of Directors as Secretary. Much of her work focuses on planning and supporting fundraising events, which play an important role in sustaining Mound Ridge and ensuring its mission can continue for future generations.
